french dip
this is one of the easiest and most delicious meals ever. i just stuck mine in the crock pot and was reminded of how effortless it is. if you don’t already have this recipe, you most definitely need to add it to your collection.
easy slow cooker french dip
4 pounds rump roast
*3 cups of water
*3 bullion cubes
1 (12 ounce) can or bottle dark beer, such as guinness
6 French rolls
2 tablespoons butter
put roast, fat side up, in a slow cooker. add the water, beef bouillon, onion soup and beer. go to work or sit on your lazy bum all day and make everyone think you slaved away. just kidding…i never just sit around on my lazy bum. i sit around on my lazy bum and play with my awesome daughter who keeps me laughing.
for best results, cook on low setting for 7 hours, or on high for 4 hours if you don’t have the time to wait.
preheat oven to 350′. split french rolls, and spread with butter. bake 10 minutes, or until heated through.
slice the meat on the diagonal, and place on the rolls. serve the “au jus” sauce on the side for dipping.
*the original recipe calls for 1 (10.5 ounce) can beef broth and 1 (10.5 ounce) can condensed fvrench onion soup, which i’m sure makes it much tastier.

you know your alcohol sarah. ; ) i’m glad you liked it. i used a different cut of meat and cooked it on high so it wasn’t as good, but hopefully it was better than cooking. thanks for watching chloe.

We don’t have any gas right now which means no hot water AND no stove - so I’m going to try this out on Saturday. I’m such a dummy - we’ve been eating microwave dinners and it didn’t even occur to me to use my slow cooker!
Oh, and we don’t have gas because we had a leak and it’s taking forever (and lots of $$$) to get it fixed - should be showering and cooking like normal again by Monday.

i thought we only used gas stovetops up here! well, i hope that your slow cooker meal is wonderful reprieve from the microwave dinners. good luck on getting the gas line fixed…and recovering from the cost.
wow, two kids and no showers. i guess not cooking is your only perk.
